I've done quite a few Web sites during the years... My first "self-made" HTML documents date back to December 1994. (published on the Web in February 1995.), which, I believe, in "Web years", is really long, long time ago... For instance, at that time even such elementary things like backgrounds for Web pages were nonexistent! (Backgrounds started appearing on the Web in March 1995., with Netscape 1.1, first browser to support them...)

Here are some Web sites I did/made/designed/redesigned/worked at...

Web pages of Bug computer magazine, magazine I work for. I have been webmaster and server admin of this site from its very beginning – March 1995. – until April 1999. Since the start, up to cca Spring 1997. – this site was probably the most popular site in Croatian webspace.

I was "chief webmaster", and server admin. Most of the site redesigns (and there were dozen of them, some minor, some major...) I've done with the help of various other people... Since 1999. sections of the Bug On Line are being maintained, programmed and designed by growing number of contributors. Today my role on this site is relatively minor, and I am listed as "advisor".

Picture shows the oldest design of Bug On Line that was on the backup CDs at my hand right now – from Summer 1997.

Oh, yes! :o) During May/June 1997. I've done major redesign of the Web site of the Croatian Government. Whole job was done solely by me (apart from getting the "raw materials" in form of photos, papers, files, etc...). I'm very, very pleased with final result, because it involved rather serious state institution, being presented on a new medium, like Web, which is not an easy task.

I did "one time" redesign and anything that it involves. Permanent, daily maintenance of the site, changes to my design, and everything else afterwards I wasn't, and am not, involved in, and I do not take any responsibility or credit for...

Web of Banka magazine, business and financial monthly. Banka magazine is being published in Croatian, but magazine has its International edition, being published in English, bi-monthly – and this is actually the magazine being presented on the Web...

Since the beginning of 1999. publication of Banka International has been discontinued, so these pages are not updated with new issues. Croatian edition of the magazine (Banka) is being published regularly...

Megatrend is one of the largest of the Croatian IT companies, and biggest IBM distributor in this part of Europe.

Design I made for them was, in my ever not so humble opinion, very nice, one of my personal favorites... although I never quite finished the work on these pages. Current Megatrend web pages have nothing to do with me – ie. my design was changed in the meantime.

During 2002. Croatia went through great reform of pensions and retirement funds system, which was one of the largest state sponsored projects of the year.

Several official sites were supporting the transition on the web, and this one was relatively small, public relations website with basic information about the project, and was designed mostly using the elements from the accompanying printed brochure.

Crno-bijeli Zagreb (Zagreb in Black and White) was site dedicated to the eponimous exhibition of (locally) famous photographer Luka Mjeda. Actually, it was a complete exhibition "translated" to the Web, with all 30-some (if I remember correctly) photographs put on line. I know I repeat myself, but this site I also consider to be very fine, and am proud of... especially if we take into consideration what sort of techniques were available in the Web world at the time. It was Fall of 1995...

Unfortunatelly, nobody saved any backup of the pages, and exhibition was removed from the Web at the time it was removed from "real life" and no trace survived of these pages... So, you have to take my word that it was super-cool... :o)

First version of Synthemesc pages. Synthemesc was my "musical formation" (I avoid using word like "band", because there were only two of us as "permanent" members). Synthemesc was first "serious" site I ever made. Work began in December 1994., and site was published on the web in February 1995.

White background you see is not a "designer decision" – remember, at that time HTML wasn't capable of defining backgrounds for Web pages! Right below the (stupid looking) header is following advice: "All in-line pictures on these pages are JPEGs – consequently, we highly recommend using Netscape as a browser." Believe it or not – in those dark ages MS IE didn't existed, and – of all browsers – only Netscape was capable of displaying JPEG pictures (!!!).

TOAW is wargame I obsesively played for years, and I play it ocassionally even now. AAR, meaning After Action Report, is post-battle report after the game is done. My AARs covered exclusively my PBEM games (ie. against the human opponents over the net).

My site, Oleg's TOAW HQ, was ambitiously outlined, but as is case with many fan sites on the web, wasn't maintained regularly, so it contains only several AARs. I planned to write and publish at least 20-some... Site is entirely in English and aimed at international visitors (wargamers, players of TOAW).

This is another classic fan site, this time dedicated to hard core nuclear sub simulation Sub Command.

Again, the site is completely in English, and aimed at international visitors. Several of my missions, custom designed for this game, can be found here. Unfortunatelly, the site wasn't updated for quite as long time, though I play Sub Command ocassionally even today. Perhaps I'll resurface the site after Dangerous Waters, sequel to Sub Command, gets published later in 2004.

I had an opportunity of visiting two historic museum submarines. Since I'm interested in naval and military history, and had excellent digital camera in my pocket, I did zillion of pictures.

After that I did a simple website to show my photos to whoever is interested. This site is not a "proper site", but rather a bunch of digital pictures scaled for the web, but whatever – let it be mentioned here, so that people may find the link if they need to.
