Prebaci na hrvatski

I wrote a lot in my life, that's what I do for a living...

I currently work in Bug d.o.o. (d.o.o. stands for "Limited") as executive editor of Mreza magazine (mreza = network), and as a journalist and editor in Bug magazine. Here's the short, dry and boring resume of my texts published to date...

Bug Bug On Line

Bug is leading Croatian computer magazine, and among the best magazines ever published in Croatia and "neighboring countries" (ex Yugoslavia, for you). My first article for Bug was a very, very negative review of Corel Draw 5.0, in Fall of 1994.

Bug currently has a circulation of 35.000 , and is being sold in neighboring countries, too.

Working for Bug I covered all sorts of topics... Internet, networks, e-mail, all kinds of software, Windows NT/2000/XP, Windows 95/98, computer graphics, games, music software and hardware, MP3 players... I estimate the current (January 2004.) number of characters in my published articles in Bug at cca 8-9 million (here, articles are being measured in number of characters, rather than words, like in the USA).

I wrote several columns and commentaries for Bug's web site, inventively named Bug On Line, that are written exclusively for the web and weren't published anywhere else, so since this is Mega List Of Everything I Ever Published, they deserve a mention as well.

Mreža Globus Banka

Mreza (Network) was first published in December 1996. Mreza is "magazine for IT profesionals", so it deals with "high end computing" so to say.

I am executive editor in Mreza and I wrote columns and atricles for Mreza since it's first issue - cca 150 articles to date.

Globus is weekly newsmagazine with highest printed circulation in Croatia (around 160.000 at the time of this writing). I wrote an article for them in February 2000., as "Guest Editor" or "Guest Columnist", about distributed DoS attacks against CNN, Amazon and other popular sites - a hot topic at the moment...

Few months later I wrote two more articles for Globus as "Guest Columnist".

Business and financial monthy, being published by Zagrebacka Banka (largest bank in Croatia), but formally "independent". My articles are being published in Banka since January 1995. cca 60 articles to date.

Besides regular issues of Banka I wrote columns for Banka's special edition Computer & Business.

Playboy

Call it stupid, childish or whatever, but I always wanted to write for Playboy. Playboy is basically one of the last bastions of sexism in overly politically correct western societies, and I am sexist - pure and simple! In November 2000 edition, I wrote a very good article about FPS (first person shooter) games, their history, evolution, "impact on society" etc... More articles were published in the next few issues and since spring of 2003. I write as columnist for Playboy's Croatian edition.

Hrvatski vojnik Tjednik Novinar

This is specialised military magazine, published by Croat Ministry of Defence. Finally I write about something not having anything to do with computers. I wrote reviews of military history books in english and other matters of interest.

Weekly newsmagazine, Time/Newsweek style. I wrote four, mostly smaller articles for Tjednik, dealing with computers, Internet and corresponding phenomena, some 7-8 years ago. Magazine itself bit the dust after being published for a year or two.

Novinar means "Journalist". It's actually a bulletin of a Croatian Association of Professional Journalists. I wrote several articles for Novinar, as some kind of a "series" about using computers in journalism, mostly on a very basic level.

Mikro/PC World

MIPS

Computer magazine published in Belgrade (Serbia), partially from original material, partially using the licence from US PC World. From time to time I write a column or two for them, offering commentaries on regional IT practices from our (Croatian) perspective.

MIPS was conceived as "newspapers about computers", issued bi-weekly, in small format. I published 11 articles in MIPS, back in 1995.
